Terms and Conditions
Note: Credits given must be used within the next term or they will become void.
If parents can no longer make the lessons they have booked and paid for and/or change their mind, they will be able to put the remaining money on credit and transfer it to the next term however, will be charged for the first 2 weeks of the term as we have limited classes which holding a space, removes an enrolment space for other students.
SWIM entry and Pool Rules
All participants must check-in at reception prior to the lesson. Please do not enter the designated lesson area until lesson commencement. All students under the age of 10 must be supervised during their lesson by an adult 18 + and all students must be supervised whilst at the facility.
Please arrive with your children already changed. This will help manage social distancing and minimise the spread of Covid. For the use of toilets, School-age children are to use same gender change rooms only
All non-toilet trained children must wear a Happy Nappy swim nappy available to purchase from the swim school. Any non-toilet trained child without an appropriate swim nappy will not be allowed into the lesson. Disposable swim nappies are not adequate.
The Coogee Diggers Swim School follows a behavior policy within our program so that all students can learn and progress in a positive and fun environment.. Any student that is deemed to be behaving in an unsafe or disruptive manner will receive a warning. Following this, a second warning will result in sitting out of the pool and missing a turn. Our Swim school teachers reserve the right to remove any students from the class immediately. This is up to the discretion of the teacher, swim school supervisor, and management.
Children not involved in a lesson or organised session are not permitted to be in the water, including on stairs, ramps, and ledges. Also do not place children attending swimming lessons in the water until the scheduled start of your lesson and only when the instructor is in the water and finished with the children from the previous class.. At Coogee Diggers, we take your children’s safety seriously and if you are to be seen swimming with your child, you will be given a warning. Following this, if ignored you will be asked to wait outside.
Absolutely no running anywhere within the centers. Exercise caution when walking in all wet areas.
Glass bottles and containers are not to be brought into the pool area and please use the rubbish bins provided.
Cancellation Policy
Classes must be canceled over the phone or at the front desk with a minimum of 30 minutes’ notice in advance of your scheduled class start time to be eligible for a makeup class.
Make-ups are only for serious injury/illness only and a medical certificate must be provided in order to receive a make-up lesson.
Make-ups will not be provided for any other reason including absences due to holidays, change of mind and other commitments etc.
A maximum of 1 make-up class is granted per term. Make-ups cause disruption to our normal classes as teachers use valuable time to modify the lesson for a student not normally in their class and will not be given otherwise.
Make-up classes can only be booked while you have an active booking in our program and have no outstanding fees.
Make–up lessons are also subject to availability and only when notification has been given prior to the lesson
If a make-up lesson is missed or not book in, this lesson will be forfeited.
Once a make-up class has been booked in, it cannot then be changed
Make–up sessions need to be used within the same term. Make-up classes cannot be rolled over.
If 2 or more consecutive lessons are missed and you have a medical certificate you can request a credit. The Credit for Classes Missed Application form is available online and will need to be completed with a Medical certificate. If granted, credits will be allocated in our system and must be used within 6 months.
If a class is canceled due to staff sickness, a make-up class will be offered within the term and during the school holidays. We offer no guarantees that a make-up will be available in a class on a day, time, or with an instructor of your choosing
If a class cannot be attended due to an unplanned pool closure as a result of (but not limited to) emergencies, power outages, inclement weather, plant and equipment breakdowns, or government directives under the public health act, a makeup token will be credited to your account for each pre-paid class missed during the closure.
Makeup tokens credited to your account due to an event outlined in paragraph 11 will be valid for six months from the day lessons resume after the closure.
Make-ups are booked in classes (other than your regular class) where space is available. We offer no guarantees that a make-up class will be available in a class on a day, time, or with an instructor of your choosing.

Re-Enrolments
Re-enrolments will begin in week 8 of each term for current students following assessments carried out in week 7. Changes in student level, time, and day will be done during this week.
Existing customers have until the end of the term to confirm booking by paying for enrolment. Those bookings unpaid for by the end of week 10 will become available for new customers.
Assessment and progression
Students are placed in the appropriate level for their ability and assessed on an ongoing basis.
To progress to the next level each swimmer has a list of skills that must be accomplished. Progression is at the swim school supervisor’s recommendation. Students are monitored by their teachers each week however, children are formally assessed on week 7. Those students deemed ready to advance by their instructor will be notified via the online report cards available to parents.
If you have any questions about your child’s swimming, please see the Supervisor on pool deck. Assessments of new students can be carried out by appointment and booked online using the online portal.
